Recruitment in Technology. What to expect in 2016!
2016 is looking to be a busy year thanks to the forecasts presented to us by the technical career site Dice. With a reported 78% of hiring managers anticipating recruiting more tech people in the first 6 months of 2016, is it the right time to be considering a move?
The issue of supply and demand is being clearly highlighted by experts within the field. The Association CompTIA surveyed 1,507 IT Executives where 45% are experiencing an ‘excessive’ shortfall in IT talent. This, along with the sheer volume of information and technology available to those job hunting, has provided another increase in opportunity for job seekers within IT.
Mercury xRM highlighted the above issues as a sign that more “IT professionals are taking on the role of the contractor, forgoing job security in order to charge a premium for their services.” This clearly adds to the task of finding the perfect technical talent for permanent roles in demand.
Agencies have moved away from posting paper CVs to embrace the new digital era. But what are they doing with their new digital presence to benefit you? Embracing technology to create a better connection with employers and job seekers has been fundamental to agencies that are succeeding. Chat booths, Webinars, Video interviewing, skills matching, virtual communities and social sharing are the top methods listed by TalentCircles. Such movements from agencies provide a great opportunity for employers and job seekers to better assess relationships before the committing to a role.
With hard work being put into a smoother application process and more knowledgeable acquisition of roles, 2016 is an exciting time for those working in the technical industry.
We will be posting quarterly infographics on our in-house data for hot roles and movement trends to keep job seekers within the technical industry one step ahead. Stay tuned to our blog to find out more!
