Platform Engineer (Cloud, Kubernetes), £110,000 - £160,000, largely remote

We are seeking a Platform Engineer with customer facing experience and strong cloud and Kubernetes knowledge to join a Series D funded San Fran team at the centre of data science innovation, helping global teams to further medical discovery, improve autonomous vehicle tech all the way through to improving music recommendation engines.

As a Platform Engineer you will be at the heart of European customer success as the team grow in EMEA. You will work remotely with customers to lead, plan and deploy a highly customisable solution, built in Linux and Kubernetes (and using lots of Open Source tooling), deployed to any major cloud environment.

You will have a mix of early stage strategic/architectural work through to ongoing tactical/engineering as the solution is delivered. Customers include 80% of the Fortune100 group, and you will ensure a performance led, scalable and securitised platform is delivered.

The role will suit anyone from a strong customer facing background with superb technical knowledge across Linux environments, cloud (AWS, GCP or Azure) and Kubernetes. You could come from a solutions engineering, Architecture or DevOps/SRE background, we are very open and not worried about exact title!

Skills required for the Platform Engineer:

  • Superb technical knowledge which will include expertise in Linux environments, exposure to cloud technologies and deployments (AWS, GCP or Azure) and experience of container tooling (Kubernetes)
  • Demonstrable customer/client facing experience, preferably deploying a software product or platform to customers directly
  • An ability and willingness to work in a remote, customer facing role
  • A background in data science, or working closely with data science team, would be beneficial but definitely not essential

Salary: £110,000 - £160,000 plus equity and benefits

Location: London head office with the flexibility to be largely remote. No travel required!

Why this role?

You will have the opportunity to work with some of the brightest minds in data science and with some of the best known and most advanced companies globally (a large amount of the Fortune100), some genuinely changing the world in what they do, helping them leverage data science in more productive ways.
