Platform Engineer (Cloud Data Science), £100,000 - £160,000
We are seeking a Platform Engineer to join a Series D funded team at the centre of data science innovation, helping global teams to further medical discovery, improve autonomous vehicle tech all the way through to improving music recommendation engines.
The team provide a platform helping to automate data science, giving Data Scientists a custom built and scalable cloud and ops environment, so they can focus on their own work, rather than building out new environments for individual models and projects.
As the Platform Engineer you will be at the heart of European customer success, working within a field engineering group. You will work directly with customers, advising on how to integrate the platform and data sources, looking at which cloud, container and systems tooling will fit best for scalability and approach in individual use cases, and building an ongoing relationship to advise and consult on best practice.
- Either internal, but preferably external, customer facing experience deploying software or platforms across multi-cloud or on-premise environments
- Superb technical knowledge which will include expertise in Linux environments and exposure to cloud technologies and deployments (AWS, GCP or Azure)
- Experience of Kubernetes
- A background in data science or MLOps would be beneficial but definitely not essential
Salary: £100,000 - £160,000 plus benefits
Location: London base with remote flexibility, 40% travel to European customer sites for no longer than a few days at a time
Why this role?
You will have the opportunity to work with some of the brightest minds in data science and with some of the best known and most advanced companies globally, some genuinely changing the world in what they do, helping them leverage data science in more productive ways.
This role could suit those from range of backgrounds and titles aren't important but you may be from software engineering or solutions architecture, to DevOps and Systems Engineering, through to Site Reliability Engineering or Forward Deployed Engineering but you must be willing to be heavily client focussed with around 40% of your role travelling across Europe.
