DevOps Manager

We are seeking a DevOps Manager to join an enterprise level tech team providing mass scale data storage solutions powered by AI technologies to the finance, banking and trading industries. Their UK team has grown rapidly to around 200 people since the end of 2019, largely in Engineering, DevOps and Reliability space and now need a leadership function to support continuing growth and shape of the DevOps vision for the organisation (planning to hire 150 people to their engineering team by the end of 2021!).

As the DevOps Manager you would be managing a team of 10+ DevOps Engineers and SREs, working within a heavily containerised environment, using OpenShift and Kubernetes, deploying systems to production, monitoring resilience, and improving reliability in a complex Linux based, private cloud environment utilising Kubernetes heavily built on bare metal. You will be responsible for growing DevOps, SRE and Agile culture, working closely with appropriate stakeholders and cross functional teams members, mentor and coach your reports with their career progression and feedback on their performance.

We are looking for a DevOps Manager with the following:

  • Experience managing and leading a DevOps, SRE (or similar) team
  • Strong technical knowledge, that whilst not necessarily hands on currently, allows you to communicate across Engineering and Ops teams
  • Demonstrable experience growing and coaching technical teams
  • A broad knowledge of DevOps, SRE or Engineering tooling which could include Kubernetes/OpenShift, Ansible, CI or monitoring tools
